All sorts of arguments come up when you discuss the publishing of speed camera waypoints. My comments apply to Sydney and the state of New South Wales (NSW) in Australia. I do not expect that anybody will agree with all or any of my comments but they are all legal and I assert my right to state them.
The stated aim of the cameras is to reduce accident and injury rates.
It is not, as has been suggested by some, to generate revenue. The RTA (NSW Road and Traffic Authority) publishes the locations and also lists of Sydney area and NSW state.
The ACT (Australian Capital Territory) Urban Services also publishes a list of locations and map of ACT cameras. This appears to be both fixed and mobile.
My Accident Blacklength waypoint file is here. This information is provided in the interest of road safety to enable you to be aware of these unsafe road locations.
